How to start a return
Email hello@belleandsouthern.com with your order number and what you'd like to do. We'll approve it and send you instructions and the return address.
Please email before sending anything back. Unapproved returns get delayed while we work out where they came from and who they belong to, and nobody enjoys that.
Once approved, please ship within 14 days.

Holiday orders
Anything bought between November 1 and December 24 can be returned through January 15. A gift shouldn't come with a deadline that runs out before it's opened.
Everything else on this page still applies, including who pays return shipping.
Who pays return shipping
We do when the piece arrived damaged, defective, or wasn't what you ordered.
We do if you'd rather exchange than refund. Tell us what you'd prefer and we'll send a label.
You do for everything else, including change of mind and sizing.
Damaged, defective, or the wrong thing
Check your order as soon as it arrives. If anything's wrong, email us within 30 days with a photo of the piece and a photo of the packaging.
The photos matter more than they sound like they do. They tell us whether it was damaged in transit, which means we can file a claim with the carrier, or whether it's a flaw in the piece itself, which is something we need to know about and fix at our bench.
Either way you're covered. Repair, replacement, or refund, your choice.
Gifts
If you received something as a gift and it isn't right, email us. You don't need the order number, just the name of whoever sent it.
We'll arrange an exchange or a gift card so you end up with something you'll actually wear. We won't refund the card of the person who gave it to you unless you ask us to, because nobody wants their present quietly handed back.
What we can't take back
Clearance and final sale items, gift cards, and custom or made-to-order pieces. If something you're ordering is made to order, we'll tell you before we start it.
Damaged, defective, and incorrect items are always covered, including in these categories.
A note on handmade pieces
Nearly everything we sell is made by hand. Patina coloring, hammer marks, and stone shape vary from piece to piece, so yours won't be an exact match to the photo. That's the nature of it, and honestly it's the point.
We describe and photograph as honestly as we know how. If a piece arrives and it's genuinely not what was described, tell us and we'll make it right.
Exchanges
Email us and we'll set it up. Tell us what you have and what you'd rather have, and we'll send a return label and handle the swap. Exchange shipping is on us, both directions.
Refunds
Once your return arrives and we've looked it over, we'll email you either way.
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days. Depending on your bank it can take a few more days to show on your statement.
Original shipping charges are refunded only when the piece arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect.
How quickly we answer
We're a small studio and we answer every email ourselves, so you're never talking to a bot or a ticket queue. We read everything and reply as quickly as we can, usually within a day or two, though at busy times it can take a few days longer.
Your return window is protected from the day you first contact us. You'll never lose your place because we were slow to answer.
