Decades of Detroit automotive paint, layered and polished into a one-of-a-kind wearable relic.

The Motor City Pick Necklace features genuine fordite, also called Detroit agate, salvaged from old car factory spray booths where layers of automotive paint built up over years of production. Each piece is hand-cut and hand-polished by The Swanky Dale in Ball Ground, Georgia to reveal the stacked color history trapped inside. This Steel Pulse pattern shows bold reds, deep blues, metallic greys, and high-contrast white stripes layered in tight bands that pulse with the energy of classic American muscle cars. The fordite rests on a hand-sawed recycled copper backplate shaped like a guitar pick, the signature silhouette of this collection. Set on hypoallergenic surgical-grade stainless steel chain that won't tarnish or fade. One of a kind, never to be repeated.

  • Genuine fordite (Detroit automotive factory paint buildup)
  • Hand-cut and hand-polished stone, hours of labor per piece
  • Bold red, deep blue, metallic grey, and white high-contrast stripe pattern
  • Hand-sawed recycled copper backplate, guitar pick shaped
  • Hypoallergenic stainless steel chain included, 20" rope or 24" ball
  • Lightweight and comfortable for everyday wear
  • 100% one-of-one design, handmade in Ball Ground, Georgia

Care Instructions

The hypoallergenic stainless steel chain requires no maintenance and won't tarnish. The fordite stone may dull slightly over time with wear. To restore its shine, gently buff with automotive polish or a soft polishing cloth. The recycled copper backplate will develop a natural patina over time, adding character and depth.
